Jazz à la Petite France is an independent festival organized by the association Sturm Production, whose purpose is to promote women artists and gender equality in the music sector. Jazz à la Petite France is a festival for musical discovery and emergence, with 50% women on stage, and an artistic line-up open to the young European scene at the crossroads of jazz and popular music genres. The festival takes a sustainable approach and prioritizes local distribution channels.
Born during the COVID-19 pandemic, the festival is held outdoors in Strasbourg's historic center, and is pay-what-you-can.
The City of Strasbourg (42 000 €), the Collectivité européenne d'Alsace (3 500 €) and the French State (to be confirmed) co-finance around 50% of the festival budget, but we are not allowed to set up ticket sales by fencing off public space to supplement our income. So every year it's a real gamble whether we succeed in financing and organizing the festival!
So, if you love our festival, if you like to think about cultural policy, if you're a patron, a potential partner, or if you'd like to get involved on a personal level, if you love to solve the complex equations of our modern world, come and join us in inventing solutions so that Jazz à la Petite France can continue to exist!
