Jazz à la Petite France is a festival organized by Sturm Production.

Born in September 2020 in the middle of the health crisis, after long months without concerts, without audiences, without human or artistic encounters, Sturm Production is a local association (based in Alsace-Moselle) that organizes the festival, as well as a musical season focused on women artists, and that promotes gender equality in the music sector. “Sturm” means “storm” in Alsatian and German.

Our musical approach is guided by the principle of openness: at the crossroads of popular and academic music, we promote the kind of jazz that embraces composition, experimentation, and improvisation, influences from here and elsewhere, traditional folklore and total innovation.

We seek to place the artist at the heart of our society and public space, to create alternative spaces for reflection and the invention of new post-COVID models, to (re)think living together in a society marked by confinement and permanent crisis. With the pandemic ostensibly behind us, the world remains in dire need of a rebalancing in favor of women, nature, and any other form of alterity to the dominant model(s).
